Use less starch.
Measure the complete outcome.

Validate the reduction alongside product quality and machine behavior.

01

Starch utilization

Evaluate starch penetration and useful performance at the proposed reduced loading.

02

Strength & sheet integrity

Check bursting strength, durability and the mill’s finished-product acceptance criteria.

03

Bonding & taping

Compare bonding and tape-sticking performance against the current recipe.

04

Process consistency

Record viscosity, preparation settings, runnability and repeatability through the trial.

Paper enzyme questions

Know the basis
before you trial.

What starch reduction should we plan for?

Use 25% as the standard planning basis. Trial scenarios can explore up to 35%, subject to the mill’s materials, process, enzyme dose and acceptable quality results.

Does a 25% starch reduction mean a 25% total cost saving?

No. Net material saving includes reduced starch cost, the full enzyme cost and any additional process costs. Use your actual rates in the calculator.

How much enzyme should we use?

The calculator’s 500, 300 and 800 kg references use editable example doses. Confirm the appropriate dose, addition point and preparation conditions with AlHaram before a controlled trial.

What technical data can I request?

Ask for available technical data, safety information and batch details for the supplied product. Agree strength, bonding and runnability acceptance criteria before use.
